The article gives an outline of the usefulness of kinesiology in "fine-tuning" health and treating stubborn musculoskeletal conditions.
Kinesiology (also known as ‘applied kinesiology’) is a healing technique based on the observation that muscles test weak when there is an imbalance in the body.
These imbalances can be associated with joint issues, stress in organs, nutritional deficiencies, food sensitivity reactions, heavy metal accumulation, emotional distress and energy imbalance. Correcting the imbalance in turn strengthens the muscle weakness and leads to healthier musculoskeletal system, but more importantly contributes to better general health.
The technique is particularly useful when otherwise healthy individuals are not feeling their best and want to “fine tune” their health without resorting to expensive functional testing or left guessing what to do to make themselves feel better.
Kinesiology may also be useful when musculoskeletal issues persist despite standard care (physio, chiropractic etc.), particularly when the cause for therapy failure is not irreversible, physical damage to joint, but a result of muscle weakness that simply doesn’t respond to muscle strengthening exercises or joint subluxation that persists despite many manual adjustments.
During the session the practitioner will tests muscles whilst moving joints, pressing points known as acupressure points or touching, pressing or applying light massage around relevant anatomical areas, particularly around the head, abdominal or spinal area. If the issue appears emotional, then the practitioner will challenge a muscle after asking the client to repeat a keyword or statement. The risks associated with the technique are minimal.
